The Doctor Will Now See You: The Rise of Social Prescribing
Some of the things that help us most are not prescriptions. They are places, people and reasons to show up.
Social prescribing is a useful correction to the idea that wellbeing is only a private project. A walking group. A choir. A community garden. A class where people make something with their hands. These can be part of a fuller life.
The idea is not that every human problem is solved by an activity. It is that connection, participation and real-world experience are worth taking seriously.
We are interested in the sensory version of that.
When people make fragrance together, the room changes. There is something to smell, compare and pass across the table. Someone says they do not like rose, then finds a rose they do. Someone remembers a place. Someone else wants the exact opposite. The bottle at the end is a souvenir of the encounter, but the encounter is the thing.
Oo La Lab makes fragrance workshops. We are not asking scent or sound to take the place of care, medicine or professional support. We are making a case for the value of participation: sensory, social and a little less screen-shaped.
That belongs in the wellbeing conversation.
